Michael was born into a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry, and grew up in the vibrant city of New York, where he attended the renowned Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and the Arts, also known as the High School of Performing Arts.
He later pursued his passion for the arts at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts/Playwrights Horizons Theater School, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Michael's journey in the world of theater began at the tender age of 12, when he made his stage debut as Nathan Detroit in his junior high school's production of "Guys and Dolls".
Following his early start, Michael went on to work in regional theater for many years, appearing in a wide range of productions, including "The Lambda", "Annie", "Into the Woods", "Our Town", "Evita", and "West Side Story", to name a few.
Since graduating from N.Y.U., Michael has continued to make a name for himself on the New York stage, starring in productions such as "Waiting for Godot", "Down the Road" by Lee Blessing, "Twelfth Night", "Dark Rapture" by Eric Overmyer, "Audience" by Vaclav Havel, and "The Bald Soprano", among others.
In addition to his impressive stage credits, Michael is also the Co-Artistic Director of the New York-based theater company, Pilot House.
