Mia Zapata

Mia Katherine Zapata, a talented and charismatic American musician, was born on August 25, 1965, and went on to become the captivating lead singer of the Seattle-based punk band, The Gits. As the band began to make a name for themselves within the burgeoning grunge scene, Zapata's unique voice and stage presence drew widespread acclaim and admiration from fans and critics alike. Tragically, her life was cut short in a senseless act of violence when she was brutally murdered on July 7, 1993, while walking home from a music venue, a devastating loss that occurred just two years shy of her 28th birthday.
