Mia Morrissey, a multifaceted artist, embarked on her performing journey at the tender age of sixteen, captivating audiences with her standout role in the critically acclaimed short film "Bat Eyes" directed by Damien Power.
This talented individual's next venture was a lead role in the musical series "In Your Dreams" on channel 7, which was filmed in both Australia and Germany over two seasons. Moreover, Morrissey demonstrated her creative prowess by writing original songs for the show.
Seeking to hone her craft, Morrissey enrolled in the Atlantic Theatre Company in New York before being accepted into the prestigious full-time acting course at WAAPA in 2016.
Since graduating, Morrissey has accumulated an impressive array of credits, including the role of Jade Lennox on the popular television series "Home and Away", Mimi Marquez in the iconic musical "RENT" at the Sydney Opera House, Gabby/Bobbi in "City Of Angels" at The Hayes Theatre, Nadiyah Zammit on the Amazon Original series "Deadloch", and Laura Cunningham on the Stan/Sundance series "Totally, Completely, Fine".
Morrissey was also slated to portray the titular role of Amelie in the musical "Amelie" at DTC, but unfortunately, the production was indefinitely postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to her screen and theatre credits, which include season two of "Harrow", channel 7's "Molly", "Alice in Slasherland" at The Old Fitz theatre, and "The Hope Song" at the Flightpath theatre, Morrissey co-produced and performed in "Anything You Can Do", a cabaret featuring female musical theatre performers reinterpreting roles originally written for men.
Furthermore, Morrissey wrote, composed, and starred in "In Loving Memory", an original musical exploring the complexities of grief, which was funded and programmed by the Hayes Theatre and premiered on stage in 2022 to widespread acclaim.
