Mercedes Morris is a multi-disciplinary artist of great versatility and talent, hailing from the vibrant city of Scarborough, Ontario. As an accomplished actress, she has left an indelible mark on the Canadian entertainment scene, appearing in numerous roles on both screens and stages across the country.
Her impressive list of credits includes her lead role on the popular Paramount+ and CBC series SkyMed, as well as recurring appearances on the CBS show Ghosts. Other notable roles include The Amityville Curse, Y: The Last Man, American Gods, Hudson and Rex, Killjoys, and Slasher seasons 3 and 5. In addition, she joined the cast of Between in its second season, taking on a series lead role.
On the stage, Mercedes has captivated audiences with her powerful performances in a range of productions, including Pipeline, Tartuffe, Lear, Twelfth Night, and The School for Scandal. Her extensive experience in motion capture has also led to appearances in multiple Ubisoft video game titles, including Far Cry 6 and Star Wars: Outlaws.
As a singer-songwriter, Mercedes showcases her impressive vocal range and unique blend of R&B and Caribbean flavors, drawing inspiration from her Toronto roots and Jamaican/Guyanese heritage. Her music is available on all major streaming platforms.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Mercedes is a dedicated advocate for equity, inclusion, and representation within the entertainment industry. As Executive Vice President of ACTRA Toronto and Chair of the Young Emerging Actors Assembly (YEAA),she leads initiatives aimed at uplifting and supporting the next generation of artists, particularly within the BIPOC community. Her passion for mentoring is evident in her work with graduating drama students from her alma maters, the University of Toronto (Mississauga) and Sheridan College.
