Melissa Bickerton was born in Adelaide, Australia, but spent the majority of her life residing in Sydney, where she would later establish herself as a talented actress in the Australian entertainment industry.

Initially drawn to ballet and painting, Melissa's passion for the performing arts was ignited at a young age, with her first stage performance taking place when she was just seven years old. She went on to spend over a decade honing her craft at some of Australia's most prestigious acting schools, before embarking on a successful stage career that would see her perform in numerous plays, national tours, and recurring roles on the long-running television series "Sons and Daughters".

As a skilled singer, Melissa also made a name for herself on stage, starring in the Australian production of "Seven Little Australians", a beloved classic novel, as the iconic character Judy. Her captivating portrayal of Judy earned her a prestigious nomination for three of Australia's most esteemed theatrical awards: The Greenroom, The Mo Award, and The Sydney Theater Critics Award for Best Female Performance in a Musical.
