Mauro Mueller is a multifaceted narrative filmmaker with a rich background in directing and screenwriting. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University in New York, demonstrating his dedication to honing his craft. As a 2022 Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Fellow, he has received recognition for his unique perspective and talent.
Mauro has directed three feature films: El Conserje, a Mexican social drama; A Few Days in the Sun, a US-Mexican-Dominican-German kidnapping thriller; and 111, a film about the 1998 Swissair crash. He has also co-directed the Swiss mystery crime thriller Wilder and serves as the showrunner for the office sitcom Our Little Embassy.
Mauro's impressive body of work includes co-directing all six episodes of the Swiss mystery crime thriller Wilder for Swiss television. He has also worked as a 2nd Unit Director on the film "Awake," starring Gina Rodriguez, Shamier Anderson, and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
Mauro's short films have received critical acclaim, including his Student Academy Award-Oscar-winning film "A World for Raúl" in 2013 and "Dear Chickens," starring Philip Baker Hall, which was Oscar-qualified in 2019. His projects have been supported by renowned film festivals such as Tribeca, Sundance, Rotterdam, Cannes, and the Berlinale.
As a producer, Mauro has worked on over ten feature films, including "Copenhagen" in Denmark, which won the Audience Award at Slamdance in 2014, and the sci-fi feature "Cosmic Dawn" in Canada. He has participated in prestigious programs such as the Rotterdam Producer's Lab and the Cannes Producer's Network.
Mauro is a member of several professional organizations, including TAP, ICAP, and AMPS. He is also co-owner of Fidelio, with which he has produced notable films and television series, including "Candelaria," which won the top prize at the Venice Film Festival in 2017, and "Ruido Capital" for Movistar+, as well as the Western TV series "The Head of Joaquín Murrieta" for Amazon.
