Maureen, a Jersey Girl with a southern twist, began her journey in theater as a teenager in Monmouth Beach, New Jersey. Prior to that, she attended Kent School in Kent, Connecticut, before becoming a Tarheel at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dramatic Art.
Maureen made a successful transition from the stage to film and television when the film industry began to flourish in North Carolina in the early 2000s. One of her notable film projects was the feature-length film "TrainWreck", written and directed by Andy Lane, which starred R. Keith Harris alongside Maureen.
In addition to her work on "TrainWreck", Maureen produced the short film "Suit Yourself", which was showcased at several prominent film festivals, including the Durango Film Festival, the Cape Fear Film Festival, and the Kent Film Festival.
Audiences may recognize Maureen from her roles in the television series "Manhunt: Unabomber", where she played the part of Janet Reno's secretary opposite Jane Lynch, and "The Gifted", in which she portrayed Mrs. Hoover. She also appeared in a series of humorous commercials for Mellow Mushroom, which aired during ACC football and basketball games.
Maureen is currently working on developing a new television show called "Oriental", which is inspired by her hometown of Oriental, North Carolina. Her ultimate goal is to help bring more film production work to North Carolina.
