Maureene Larrazabal was born and raised in the Philippines, where she has spent her entire life. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts with a major in Interior Design from St. Paul College Quezon City. Her immediate family consists of a brother, E.J. Leonardo, and a sister, Lorraine Ana. Her parents are Ana Marie Larrazabal and Nestor Vera Cruz.
In addition to her acting career, Maureene is also a talented musician and has been a member of the band Mau's Big Deal for five years. The band consists of Chanda Espiritu (vocalist),Jelo Morales (vocalist),Arnold Austria (drummer),Arnold Mariano (keyboards),Jun delos Reyes (bass),and Robert Rivera (guitar). Maureene and her band have performed abroad and have gained a significant following.
Maureene's early career began with a role on TV in the show "Mikee Forever" as Carrie, the Weather Girl. She has since gone on to star in numerous TV shows, including "Sana'y Ikaw Na Nga", "Kirara", "Kool Ka Lang", "Eat Bulaga", "Gags Must Be Crazy", "Home Along Da Riles", "L", "Iskul Bukol", and "Mikee Forever". She has also appeared in various commercial ads, including "Clown" for Condura Refrigerators and "Skin Reborn" for Hirudoid.
Maureene's big-screen debut was in the film "Strict ang Payrents Ko" alongside Amanda Page and Gary Estrada, but she had to leave the project due to her need to go abroad.
