Martha De Laurentiis, a pioneering film producer, co-founded the Dino De Laurentiis Company (DDLC) in 1980 alongside her husband and partner, Dino De Laurentiis. Over the past three decades, Martha has been instrumental in producing, executive producing, and co-producing over 40 films and miniseries.
As the company evolved, Martha played a crucial role in overseeing the construction and management of three major international film studios. These studios include the Screen Gem Studios in Wilmington, North Carolina; the Warner Bros. / Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast of Australia; and the CLA-De Laurentiis studios in Ouarzazate, Morocco.
The De Laurentiis Company, now based on the Universal Pictures lot, has maintained a long-standing first-look deal. In addition to producing the critically acclaimed Hannibal series for NBC, Martha is currently developing a diverse range of projects for both film and television.
Some of these projects include a Barbarella series with Nicolas Winding Refn for Gaumont International TV and Canal Plus; a series based on the novel Gateway by Frederik Pohl; a feature film entitled The Seventh Day, set for release in 2021; and a new project based on the Sandman Slim series by Richard Kadrey.
