Conxita Alà i Miquel, a renowned Catalan actress, was born in Barcelona, Spain. Initially, she pursued a career in music, studying piano at the Conservatori Municipal in Barcelona. However, she eventually transitioned to the world of acting, making her screen debut in 1958.
During the early years of her career, Marta primarily starred in a series of lighthearted romantic comedies. By 1963, she had successfully established herself in the crime thriller and spaghetti western genres, often billing herself as 'Martha Dovan' in the latter category.
In addition to her work in film, Marta was also an accomplished stage actress, performing in Barcelona from 1963. She eventually founded her own theatre company in the 1970s, dividing her time between television, stage acting, and voice-over work. Furthermore, she also took on the role of dubbing director.
Marta achieved her greatest level of popularity as a character actress in soap operas during the 1980s and 1990s. She remained active in the entertainment industry until her retirement from the screen in 2007. Unfortunately, Marta passed away on September 29, 2019, at the age of 81.
