Marisa Echeverria, a talented actress, was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Glendale with her parents and sister Allegra. The family lived next door to Clarence Nash, the voice of Donald Duck, and just two blocks from her grandparents, giving her a unique childhood experience reminiscent of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
Echeverria's early life was marked by her Mexican heritage and her love for music. She sang and danced, following in her paternal grandfather's footsteps, a singer and mariachi violinist. Although she barely knew her grandfather, who passed away from lung cancer when she was just two years old, she has fond memories of them praying together and has played his violin for many years.
As a member of the Los Angeles Children's Choir, Echeverria sang with renowned music artists such as Barry Manilow, Melissa Manchester, and Yo-Yo Ma. She also performed at the wedding of Rod Stewart and Rachel Hunter and sang on the soundtrack of the movie "Hero" with Luther Vandross.
Echeverria's passion for acting was sparked by her performance in an opera at the Los Angeles Music Center, where she met a soprano diva who left a lasting impression on her. She went on to perform in three operas while still in middle school and discovered her love for acting.
Echeverria's big break came when she was in college, when visiting director Elizabeth Swados cast her in an original musical. This marked the beginning of her life as an actor, and she is grateful to her mentors, including her parents, teachers, and directors who guided her towards her dream.
After college, Echeverria received a fellowship to pursue an MFA at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She has since appeared in numerous television shows, including "Shameless", "Pure Genius", and "The Mentalist", as well as films such as "The Bye Bye Man" and "Stalked By My Doctor: A Sleepwalker's Nightmare".
Echeverria's theater credits include "The Bacchae" at Shakespeare in the Park, where she sang music by Philip Glass and served as dance captain. She has also received awards for her performances, including Outstanding Individual Performance in the Rap/Hip Hop musical "Kingdom" in NYC.
In her free time, Echeverria enjoys skiing, yoga, and tennis, and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. She is also dedicated to charity work, supporting organizations such as Immigrant Families Together, Planned Parenthood, Young Storytellers, and the World Wildlife Fund.
