Biography

Marília Medina began her professional journey in 1991, alongside Jorge Doria, in her first play, which toured Brazil for two years. In 2001, she acted under the direction of Camilla Amado in the show Alices, marking a significant milestone in her career. Fast forward to 2006, Medina co-produced and acted in the show Lavanderia Brasil, a production by Miguel Paiva, directed by Moacyr Chaves, with a talented cast including Felipe Camargo, Marcos Breda, and Paulo Burlamaqui.

Medina's first monologue, Margarida, premiered under the direction of Bruno Garcia, earning widespread acclaim from both audiences and specialized critics. In 2018, she relocated to São Paulo, where she repeated her success with a monologue, staying in the city for two years before being forced to interrupt her performances due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a member of the artistic movement Cemiterio dos Automóveis, led by Mário Bortolotto, Medina has been an integral part of the group. Her television credits include appearances in soap operas and series such as HOW YOU DECIDE, LABYRINTH, and WOMAN. In the world of cinema, Medina has starred in films like HOW TO FORGET (2010),WOMEN OF BRAZIL (2006),ONE MORE TIME LOVE (2005),and THE CHAMPION (2018),directed by Paulo Thiago.

Medina's impressive filmography also includes the short film SILDENAFIL, directed by Clovis Melo, which earned her the Best Actress award at the Toronto festivals in Canada and Ceará. Currently, Medina is involved in producing two new shows, with her premiere scheduled for next year, under the direction of the award-winning Duda Maia.
