Mariana Dominguez Peñalva is a talented Mexican actress born in Mexico City, the daughter of a renowned Mexican painter and opera singer. She began her professional acting career at a young age, starring in the popular Mexican telenovela "Mirada de Mujer" as Andrea, which was a huge success in Mexican television.
Early in her career, Mariana studied acting with the prestigious Centro de Formación Actoral, under the guidance of Hector Mendoza and Raul Quintanilla. She gained her first experience in films as the camera double for Angelina Jolie in the movie "Original Sin."
In 2000, Mariana traveled to Europe, where she spent nearly four years studying arts and working on various independent films, including "Girl with a Pearl Earring" alongside Scarlett Johansson. Upon her return to Mexico, she worked on several television programs, including "La vida es una Cancion," "Heredera," "Tormenta en el paraíso," and "El Pantera."
Mariana has also worked on seven short films, some of which have been showcased at international film festivals. In 2007, she landed her first major role in the blockbuster Mexican film "Tear this heart out," starring alongside Daniel Giménez Cacho and Ana Claudia Talancon.
In 2008, Mariana secured her first starring role in the independent film "Written in blood," co-starring with Carlos Ortega and Cecilia Cósero. She has since worked on several projects, including the feature film "Return," produced and directed by Alejandro González Padilla, alongside Jaime Camil, Blanca Soto, Daniela Schmidt, Victor Huggo Martin, and Javier Tolosa.
Mariana is currently in talks for several projects, including "The Cabinetmaker's wardrobe" and "The Death," both of which feature her in the lead role. One of the projects is set to be partially shot in Paris.
