Biography

Maria Pia Vaccarezza, later known as Conte, was born in Genoa, Italy, to a carpenter father, and spent her formative years in Sestri Levante before relocating to her birthplace to pursue her passion for classical ballet. As a child, she dabbled in acting, making appearances in various productions, which ultimately led her to become a model for fotoromanzi, a popular form of Italian comic books.

It was during this time that Conte decided to focus on a full-fledged acting career, enrolling in the prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, where she graduated in 1962. Her professional debut came in 1961 with a role in Marco Bellocchio's short film "La colpa e la pena", marking the beginning of a prolific career in both film and television.

Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Conte appeared in numerous films and TV-series, often in supporting roles, and was sometimes credited as Mary P. Count. Her talents extended beyond acting, as she also worked as a voice actress and dubber. However, she eventually retired from the industry in the late 1970s.

In her personal life, Conte was married to the renowned Italian actor Giuseppe Rinaldi, who passed away in 2007. The couple had a daughter together, Francesca Rinaldi, who also pursued a career in acting.
