Biography

Margrete Robsahm, born on October 9, 1942, is a multifaceted Norwegian individual, distinguished as a model, actress, and director. As a proud parent, she is the mother of the accomplished director Thomas Robsahm, and as a sibling, she shares a familial bond with the renowned actor Fred Robsahm.

Internationally, Robsahm is perhaps most notable for her captivating performance in the 1961 film Castle of Blood, alongside the iconic Barbara Steele. Her extensive repertoire, however, also includes appearances in various Norwegian movies, with Line being a notable example. This 1961 production, based on Axel Jensen's novel, caused a minor stir in Norway due to Robsahm's bold decision to expose her breasts on screen, a groundbreaking moment in Norwegian cinematic history.

In March 2008, Margrete Robsahm garnered significant media attention when it was revealed that she had received NOK 2.3 million in government funding for the arts over a period of sixteen years, without having produced a single film. Although no direct criticism was aimed at Robsahm, the government's stipendiary system was subjected to scrutiny, prompting questions about its efficacy.
