Margaret Markov, a statuesque and striking figure, possessed a slender yet shapely physique, accompanied by lengthy straw blonde hair, precise facial features, and a bright, sunny demeanor. Her acting skills were solid and capable, and she exuded a strong, durable attitude. Markov's early career began in 1969 with a small uncredited role in The Sterile Cuckoo and a supporting role in Run, Angel, Run!. She went on to star in Pretty Maids All in a Row and then landed a leading role in The Hot Box, where she truly shone as Lynn Forrest, a dedicated nurse who joins forces with guerrilla fighters to overthrow a fascistic government.
Markov's momentum continued with her fiery performance as Bodicia in The Arena, a "Spartacus" variant, where she played a slave forced into brutal gladiatorial combat. Fed up with her mistreatment, Markov teams up with Pam Grier and leads a slave uprising against the Romans. Markov and Grier proved to be a dynamic duo, displaying natural chemistry and sex appeal. She starred again with Grier in Black Mama White Mama, where her rugged revolutionary is chained to Grier's prostitute and they escape from prison.
Besides her film work, Markov also appeared in several television shows, including Hawkins, The Sixth Sense, The Jimmy Stewart Show, and Cade's County. After her appearance in There Is No 13, Markov abruptly stopped acting. Today, she is married to producer Mark Damon, with whom she has two children, and resides in a mansion in Los Angeles, California.
