Marcus was born in Leicester in 1981, and his early life was marked by significant challenges. Growing up with his two sisters and mother on the outskirts of the city in Glen Parva, he experienced a sense of normalcy until tragedy struck when he was just 11 years old. Following the loss of his father at the age of 8, Marcus was taken into care, a turning point that would shape the course of his life.
As he navigated the difficulties of his teenage years, Marcus found himself struggling to make ends meet, working various jobs and eventually securing a flat on the notorious St Matthew's estates. Despite his best efforts, he continued to face challenges, and it wasn't until he met the mother of his children and future wife, Anna, at the age of 19 that he began to settle down.
Marcus's early career saw him working as a window fitter for a decade, but it wasn't until he returned to college to pursue his passion for carpentry and joinery that he began to feel a sense of fulfillment. It was during this period that he reconnected with a long-term friend and martial arts teacher, Kwoklyn Wan, who introduced him to the world of Jeet Kune Do (JKD) training.
Marcus credits Kwoklyn with providing him with the support and encouragement he needed to pursue his dreams, and it was through their friendship that he discovered his true calling in the entertainment industry. Kwoklyn helped Marcus set up a casting company, and he spent the next several years honing his skills working, on various projects, and gaining valuable experience in the industry.
As Marcus's career progressed, he began to land more significant roles, leveraging his skills in martial arts and stage combat to secure parts alongside some of the biggest names in the business. After co-writing a feature film and spending five years in the industry, Marcus decided to invest in a film studio in Coalville, a venture that ultimately did not come to fruition.
Undeterred, Marcus continued to pursue his passion for media production, earning a Level 5 HND in the subject. Today, he runs his own small production company on the side, a testament to his perseverance and dedication to his craft.
