Marcia Myers, a native of North Philadelphia, was renowned for her exceptional Double Dutch jumping skills in her childhood neighborhood, a talent she still proudly boasts about to this day, often exclaiming, "I still got the Double Dutch moves".
Throughout her career, Marcia has accumulated an impressive list of credits, including a principal role in MGM's Creed 2, alongside Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan, and Tessa Thompson. She has also appeared in the CBS pilot Ways and Means, starring Patrick Dempsey, as well as several independent projects, such as Amazon Prime's Single and Anxious, Road Rage, and Mazurkas, and various national and regional commercials.
One of Marcia's most passionate pursuits is her one-woman play, "24 Hour Mind Battle", which she wrote and co-produced, shedding light on mental illness and working to reduce the stigma surrounding it.
As a child, Marcia's mother took her to see the musical "Momma I Wanna Sing" in New York City, which inspired her to become an actor. Although she started her acting journey later than she would have liked, Marcia finally achieved her dream of becoming an actor and storyteller.
Marcia's early foray into acting was as both a Munchkin and the Good Witch of the North in her elementary school stage play, The Wiz, which sparked her love for acting. She also often fantasized about being cast as a series regular in The Flintstones, as an African American girl growing up in the town of Bedrock.
In her late teens, Marcia and her family moved to Willingboro, New Jersey, where she graduated from Willingboro High School and Burlington County College with an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts, concentrating on Special Education and Theatre Arts.
Today, Marcia is a loving wife to her partner and mother to her two daughters, whom she adores and often entertains with her singing, tap dancing, and playful antics. Her daughters would often tease her, saying, "Mom, you really need to learn how to become a real actor", which prompted Marcia to sit down and research, "how to become a real actor", and the rest, as they say, is history.
When not busy writing, producing, performing, and auditioning, Marcia can be found in the classroom, working as a substitute teacher, a profession she deeply enjoys.
