Marcello Cacioppo, the youngest of five siblings, was born with a passion for performance. His parents, Assunta and Carmelo, immigrated to Toronto from Agrigento, Sicily, and their colorful Italian household was the perfect breeding ground for Marcello's creativity. Growing up, he would often imitate the accents and facial expressions of his family members, neighbors, and even the characters in his favorite stories, sparking his imagination and paving the way for a life in the arts.
At around the age of eight, Marcello discovered his love for music, sneaking into his brother's home studio to bang away on the drums. With the influence of his brother Lu Caci, a guitarist for the bands Mar-KZ and Ugly Melon, Marcello took his drumming seriously and eventually got his own drum kit. He continued to play in high school, solidifying his passion for the arts and performing in front of crowds at Toronto City Hall and the Vanier Cup.
After high school, Marcello played in local bars with various musicians, including family members, and even landed a gig with the short-lived band Sons of Ben, featuring Jeremy Renner and John Stauffer. Years later, he would take on the role of drummer for the band.
In his early twenties, Marcello and his twin brother Marco were featured in a photo spread in The Toronto Sun, holding a sign that read "Let two it" as the Toronto Blue Jays were competing in the World Series. The twins' picture caught the attention of a local theatrical agent, who signed them and began sending them on auditions. Marcello's versatility as an actor, combined with his deep expressive green eyes and colorful Italian upbringing, has made him a sought-after talent in the industry.
Marcello's early roles included a Coca-Cola commercial, as well as stage and screen appearances in numerous plays, independent films, and feature films that have made the festival circuit and limited theatrical release. He has also been featured in a Dolce & Gabbana fall campaign, photographed by Steven Meisel, and appeared in issues of Vogue magazine.
When not acting, Marcello can be found indulging his love of cooking or sharing his passion for pizza with friends and guests at one of his pizzerias, Best Fckn Pizza.
