Biography

Marcel Pagnol, a renowned writer and producer, embarked on his life's journey on February 28, 1895, in the picturesque town of Aubagne, situated in the Bouches-du-Rhône department of France. His impressive body of work includes the critically acclaimed films The Well-Digger's Daughter, released in 1940, Jean de Florette, which premiered in 1986, and Ugolin, a 1952 production. Throughout his life, Pagnol was blessed with the love and companionship of two remarkable women, Jacqueline Pagnol and Simone Collin, whom he married. Unfortunately, his life came to a close on April 18, 1974, in the City of Light, Paris, France.
