Marc-André Lavoie is a renowned feature filmmaker, effortlessly traversing the creative landscapes of Montreal, Los Angeles, and Beijing. As a child, his imagination was captivated by the cinematic universes of visionary directors like Lucas and Spielberg, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors.
However, at the tender age of 21, Marc-André's life took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed with cancer. As his world crumbled around him, he found himself teetering on the precipice of mortality. In a poignant moment of introspection, he made a promise to destiny: if he were to survive, he would dedicate his life to the art of filmmaking.
Miraculously, Marc-André emerged from his health crisis, determined to seize the second chance that had been granted to him. With renewed purpose, he threw himself into his craft, penning, producing, and directing four feature films: Bluff, Tough Luck, Hot Dog, and Innocent.
Marc-André's unwavering dedication to his craft was rewarded with the prestigious Best Director Award at the CCIFF 2018 for his poignant film Innocent. As he continues to push the boundaries of his art, he is currently preparing for international projects in collaboration with strategic partners.
