Marah Strauch's debut documentary feature, Sunshine Superman, was released theatrically in foreign territories by Universal Pictures and in the USA by Magnolia Pictures. This exhilarating and poetic portrait of Carl Boenish, the inventor of the sport of BASE jumping, premiered as the opening film at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film received widespread acclaim, with The New York Times dubbing it a "masterful debut" and Indiewire praising it as "one of the best docs of the year". As a result, Sunshine Superman was picked up to air on CNN as a "CNN film".
In addition to her work on Sunshine Superman, Marah Strauch directed an ESPN original documentary as part of the "Pioneer Series", profiling the street skater Mark Gonzales. This film explored the intersection of sports and art, showcasing Gonzales' unique approach to the sport.
Marah's more recent documentary, "Vice Versa Chyna", premiered in the summer of 2021 on Vice as a Vice Versa original. This documentary is a tribute to the female wrestler known as Chyna, and explores her life and career in the world of professional wrestling.
Throughout her career, Marah Strauch has produced and directed over 40 hours of content in over 30 countries for TV and branded media. Her clients have included major networks and brands such as Discovery Channel, VICE, HGTV, POPSUGAR, American Express, and Adidas.
