Mannara Chopra is a renowned performer, Odissi trained dancer, Belly Dancer, and Hip-Hop Dancer, who has dazzled audiences and critics with her impressive range of skills in movies, commercial ads, and on stage and in events. Throughout her illustrious career, she has received numerous award nominations and has won prestigious awards like the Santosham Film Awards and Lions Gold Awards, making her a prominent figure in the Indian Film Industry.
Born as Barbie Handa, Mannara later changed her name on the advice of her cousin Priyanka Chopra. She was born on March 29th in Ambala Cantonment, Haryana, and holds Indian nationality. Her nickname, Barbie, was given by one of her male cousins after her resemblance to the popular pink Barbie Doll.
Mannara is the daughter of Kamini Chopra Handa, a Jewellery designer, and her father is a lawyer at the Delhi High Court. She has a younger sister named Mitali, and is part of a family of stars, including her cousin sisters Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra.
As a member of the renowned Chopra Family of Bollywood, her mother, Priyanka Chopra's father, and Parineeti Chopra's father are siblings. Mannara completed her schooling at Summer Fields School in New Delhi and pursued her bachelor's degree along with her fashion college in Delhi.
She has been active in the industry since 2014 and has been featured in numerous movies and TV commercials. After completing her education, Mannara moved to Mumbai, where she started her career in Modelling and Advertising. She made 40 commercials, including notable ones with Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar, and Imtaz Ali.
Mannara's breakthrough role came when she was the original face of Ganna commercial, Myntra, and three commercials alongside her cousin Priyanka Chopra, including one for Dabur Amla Hair Oil, which earned her "Instant Recognition" and led to film offers in Hindi and Telugu. She has also appeared in Amit Trivedi's song "Bas Bajna Chahiye", the theme song for Gaana.
Before making her film debut, Mannara is best known for her lead roles in Telugu films like Rouge (2017) directed by Puri Jagannadh, Zid (2014),Prema Geema Jantha Nai (2014),Jakkanna (2016),Thikka, and Sita (2019). She has also been a showstopper at leading Fashion Weeks and events, including Lakme Fashion Week (2018).
