In the year 1970, the talented musician Ayukawa embarked on a new venture, co-founding the band Sunhouse as its guitarist and leader. This marked the beginning of an illustrious career that would span decades.
Fast-forward to 1978, Ayukawa's passion for music led him to create the rock band Sheena & The Rokkets, with his wife Sheena taking center stage as the vocalist. Additionally, he briefly joined the renowned band Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO) as a guitarist, further solidifying his status as a versatile musician.
The band's sophomore album, Vacuum Pack, released in 1979, became a massive hit, featuring the catchy single You May Dream, which resonated with fans worldwide. Ayukawa remained an integral part of Sheena & The Rokkets until 2023, releasing numerous albums that showcased his remarkable talent.
Throughout his career, Ayukawa was synonymous with his trusty 1969 Les Paul Custom guitar, which he played with unparalleled finesse. His dedication to his craft earned him a revered position as a rock icon in Japan's vibrant music scene.
Beyond his musical accomplishments, Ayukawa also made a name for himself as a model and actor. He appeared in several films, including Chinpira (1996),Gyaku (2012),and Waruboro (2007),showcasing his range as a performer.
Tragically, Ayukawa's life came to an abrupt end on January 29, 2023, in Tokyo, Japan. Despite his untimely passing, his legacy as a rock legend and multi-talented artist continues to inspire and influence generations to come.
