Makhaola Ndebele was born in the Kingdom of Lesotho, where he spent the majority of his childhood, with intermittent periods spent growing up in Cambridge, England, and Denver, Colorado, USA.
He is the first-born son of Academic Professor and Author, Njabulo Ndebele, and Organisational Leader, Mpho Ndebele.
Makhaola's educational background includes obtaining his International Baccalaureate diploma at Machabeng College, in Lesotho, his Bachelor's degree at the University of Cape Town, and his Master's degree at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa.
Makhaola's journey in the film industry began as a teenager, when he appeared as an extra in the 1990 film, American Ninja 4. He made his professional acting debut in the South African TV Mini-series, The Principal, in 1997.
Throughout his career, Makhaola has achieved numerous highlights, including producing the sitcom, Nomzamo, from 2006 to 2009, and performing the role of Moshe Mambo in the 2016 film, Money Monster.
In addition to his acting career, Makhaola also works as a theatre director and creative consultant.
