Mahri Shelton was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but spent the majority of her life as an urban Floridian, immersing herself in the vibrant cultural atmosphere of the state. During her formative years, she developed a passion for the performing arts, acting in school plays and participating in drama classes and theater productions throughout her high school tenure.
Mahri's academic pursuits led her to Florida State University, where she became involved with the College of Motion Picture and Recording Arts, one of the most esteemed film schools in the country. Under the guidance of FSU's esteemed faculty, she gained valuable experience in the film industry, laying the groundwork for a potential career as an actress.
After working with FSU Film, Mahri took a brief hiatus to explore opportunities in government, but eventually returned to her true calling, reigniting her passion for acting. She spent the next year and a half honing her craft under the tutelage of renowned acting coach Lon Bumgarner at the Film Actors' Studio.
Since then, Mahri has been actively involved in the North and South Carolina Film Community, securing lead and supporting roles in independent films, as well as industrial, commercial, and voice-over productions. Her extensive experience has allowed her to diversify her skills and adapt to a wide range of projects.
Today, Mahri resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she is finally living her lifelong dream, bringing her talents to the screen and captivating audiences with her performances.
