Maev Beaty is a multifaceted theatre-maker, stage, screen, and voice artist who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry.
As a performer, she has originated roles in over two dozen Canadian Premieres, showcasing her versatility and range. Her extensive experience in leading roles at the Stratford Festival and various theatres across Canada, including Soulpepper, Tarragon, the Globe, Canadian Stage, and La Mama in NYC, has earned her critical acclaim.
Maev's impressive list of awards and nominations includes being a Toronto Theatre Critics' Award winner, a three-time Dora Award winner, and a fourteen-time Dora nominee in both performance and writing. The New York Times has referred to her as "the excellent Maev Beaty," a testament to her exceptional talent.
As a playwright, Maev co-wrote the confessional play "Secret Life of a Mother" with Hannah Moscovitch and Ann-Marie Kerr, which delves into the complex and often taboo topics of miscarriage, labour, and postpartum parenting. The play is available through Playwrights Canada Press.
Maev is also a co-founder of Got Your Back and a former member of the CAEA Equity Council. She is currently a Steering Committee member of Balancing Act, a testament to her commitment to promoting diversity and equity in the entertainment industry.
