Lynn Williams, a former athlete turned actor, embarked on a dual career in television and film, seamlessly transitioning from the gridiron to the silver screen. After playing for the Los Angeles Rams and later the San Diego Chargers, Lynn's next move was to audition for the popular television show American Gladiators in 1992.
From a pool of 700 hopeful participants, Lynn was selected to compete on the show under the moniker "Sabre," and went on to appear on the series for an impressive five years, from 1992 to 1997. During his tenure, Lynn was voted by fans as the most popular male gladiator, a testament to his charisma and physical prowess.
In addition to his success on American Gladiators, Lynn Williams also made appearances on various television series, including Family Matters, Babylon 5, Night Man, and Sons of Thunder. However, he is perhaps best known for his role as Jax in the video game movie sequel Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997),which showcased his impressive physical attributes and stunt work.
As Jax, Lynn donned the iconic 40-lb metal arms and performed his own stunts, bringing the character to life in a way that captivated audiences. He reprised his role in the video Mortal Kombat: Federation of Martial Arts (2000) (V) and, after a four-year hiatus, returned to the big screen in the 2004 movie Middle Man, before ultimately retiring from the film industry.
Beyond his sports and acting career, Lynn Williams is an active member of the Constitutional Rights Foundation and the Cancer II Foundation, and spends a significant amount of time delivering motivational talks across the country, inspiring others with his remarkable story.
