Lydia Kay, a talented British actress, was born in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, to an artist and a guitarist. Growing up in a creative environment, Lydia naturally developed her artistic side from an early age. She decided that acting was her calling, and everything she has achieved since has been a pursuit of this dream.
At the tender age of seven, Lydia first stepped onto the stage with a local amateur dramatics group, and later went on to perform numerous times with the Leighton Buzzard Children's Theatre. Through her work with this group, Lydia began to realize her full potential, not only as an actress but also as a singer and dancer. By the time she was preparing to attend drama school, Lydia had accumulated twelve years of stage experience, as well as seven years of training in various dance styles, including street, jazz, modern, and ballet.
Lydia then trained for three years at East 15 Acting School on the BA (Hons) World Performance course, becoming part of its first-ever graduating year. The course was a valuable learning experience for Lydia, teaching her to strive for her goals and exposing her to a wide range of global performance techniques. She developed her performance skills in Western acting styles and learned new disciplines such as Jingju, Balinese dance, Kecak, traditional Nigerian dance and drumming, Butoh, and many more.
Since graduating, Lydia has been acting almost non-stop, with a strong desire to progress into film and television. She has had several scare acting jobs, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and has been warmly welcomed into the world of touring Pantomime. One of the great opportunities she had was the chance to perform every day at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games for Coca-Cola, in their interactive Beatbox building. This experience has since influenced her to take up archery. She has also completed filming on the features 'Survivors' and 'Christmas Slay,' and has a lead role coming up in 2014 in the high-profile indie film 'Invasion of the Not Quite Dead.'
