Luke Bracey's journey in the entertainment industry began in his hometown of Sydney, Australia, where he made his acting debut in the popular Aussie soap opera, Home and Away, in 2009. For a year, he portrayed the character of "Trey Palmer", a bad-boy role that showcased his acting range. Concurrently, he appeared in multiple episodes of the Aussie series Dance Academy in 2010.
This early success paved the way for his first feature film and American role in Monte Carlo, released in 2011, where he co-starred alongside Leighton Meester. The following year, he took on the lead role in the horror film Amnesia, further solidifying his position as a rising star.
In 2013, Bracey's versatility as an actor was showcased once again as he appeared in the action-packed film G.I. Joe: Retaliation, playing the iconic role of "Cobra Commander". Additionally, he landed the male lead role in the ABC drama Westside, alongside Odette Annable and Jennifer Beals, marking another significant milestone in his career.
