Biography

Luisa Rossi, a talented actress of Ticino origin, was born in Milan in the year 1925. By 1939, she had already begun her career with Radio Svizzera Italiana, and just four years later, at the tender age of eighteen, she landed her first film role in Anything for a Song, a movie released in 1943. This marked the beginning of her journey in the film industry, which would span over three decades until her eventual retirement in 1978.

One of the most notable roles of her early career was as the young Italian girl in Leopold Lindtberg's iconic Swiss film, The Last Chance, released in 1945. This film, which is often regarded as one of the most famous Swiss films of all time, brought her critical acclaim and recognition. However, despite this success, she struggled to capitalize on it and was often relegated to supporting roles in minor films.

Some of her notable film roles include Duilio Coletti's Lure of the Sila, released in 1949, Joseph Losey's Stranger on the Prowl, released in 1952, and Nanni Moretti's Ecce bombo, released in 1978. Despite her disappointment with her film career, Luisa Rossi found success and fulfillment in television and the stage, where she had the opportunity to work with renowned directors such as Luchino Visconti, Giorgio Strehler, and Dario Fo.

Unfortunately, Luisa Rossi's life was cut short when she passed away at the age of 59, leaving behind a legacy of her work in the entertainment industry.
