Louise Elizabeth Nurding was born on November 4, 1974, in Lewisham, London. She adopted the surname Redknapp after marrying her long-time friend and football star, Jamie Redknapp.
Louise's music career began early, after studying at the Italia Conti Stage School. She was spotted dancing in a club by her future manager, Denis, who was looking for girls to form a new girl group. Louise introduced her school friend, Kéllé Bryan, to Denis, and they both joined the group. Later, Vernie Bennett, who would later refer to Louise as her sister, Easther Bennett, also joined the group. This marked the birth of the girl group Eternal, which went on to become the greatest girl group in Europe since 5 Star.
During her time with Eternal, Louise was the most successful member, but she eventually decided to leave the group in 1995 to pursue a solo career. She cited her desire to sing and produce different kinds of music as the reason for her departure. Despite leaving the group, Louise remained on good terms with her fellow members, Kelle, Vernie, and Easther, and they remain friends to this day.
Louise went on to become the most successful female artist in Europe, with three solo albums to her name. She has been voted the "sexiest woman in the world" by FHM magazine and consistently scores high in the FHM charts.
Interestingly, Louise's biggest media problem is that she is not very controversial. She has not had a string of high-profile boyfriends, does not seek to draw attention to herself, and is genuinely a nice person. As a result, she has not received much publicity in recent years, except for her marriage to Jamie Redknapp and her inclusion in the FHM Top 100 Sexiest Women poll.
Louise and Jamie Redknapp had a quiet wedding on a yacht in Bermuda, surrounded by friends and family. The only controversy surrounding their marriage was when some sections of the media claimed that Louise's father-in-law, Harry Redknapp, had said that she should spend all her time at home and in the kitchen, rather than pursuing a career of her own. However, this controversy quickly blew over.
Louise has recently re-entered the music scene and is set to start her Changing Faces tour in early 2002.
