Lorenzo Fernando Lamas, a talented individual with a rich family background, was born in Santa Monica, California, to actors Arlene Dahl and Fernando Lamas. His father, of Argentinian descent, and mother, of American and Norwegian ancestry, instilled in him a strong sense of cultural heritage.
Growing up in Pacific Palisades, California, Lorenzo's family relocated to New York in 1968. He attended private school, graduating from Admiral Farragut Academy in 1975, before returning to California. With the encouragement of his father, he enrolled in Tony Barr's Film Actors Workshop, marking the beginning of his acting career in 1976.
Lorenzo's passion for martial arts led him to study karate and tae kwon do in 1979. He has since appeared in over fifty movies and five television series, earning recognition for his roles on Falcon Crest, where he played Lance Cumson, and Renegade, where he portrayed Reno Raines.
Beyond his acting career, Lorenzo has pursued a professional racing career, successfully balancing both pursuits in the 1980s and 1990s. He has also appeared on stage, performing in musicals such as The King and I and A Chorus Line.
A devoted motorcyclist for over thirty years, Lorenzo has participated in the Love Ride, a charity event benefiting MDA and various organizations since its inception in 1983. He is also a commercial helicopter and airplane pilot, frequently flying disadvantaged children to summer camps and individuals who cannot afford to travel normally on domestic flights.
Recently, Lorenzo earned his certification to become a helicopter flight instructor, further expanding his skills and dedication to helping others.
