Lolita Foster's life began in Farmville, Virginia, where she would later cultivate a passion for the arts. Her academic pursuits led her to the University of Virginia, where she earned an English major with the ambition of becoming a writer. However, during her final year, she discovered a newfound love for drama, which would ultimately alter the course of her career.
Upon graduating, Foster was awarded a coveted acting fellowship at the esteemed Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. This prestigious program provided her with invaluable training and experience, laying the foundation for her future success.
Following the completion of her fellowship, Foster made the bold decision to relocate to Manhattan, where she would go on to perform in numerous theatrical productions throughout New York, earning widespread critical acclaim.
In 2013, she made her mark on a global scale by portraying CO Maxwell in the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. Initially, she was only slated to appear in the series premiere, but her exceptional performance caught the attention of the show's creators, leading to her recurring character status.
Foster's impressive resume continued to grow in 2015, as she worked on Katie Holmes' directorial debut, All We Had, released in 2016.
