Lisha Hackney, a talented American actress, was born in East Texas, where she developed a fondness for the great outdoors, particularly the deep Piney Woods, where she would spend her childhood engaging in imaginative play and riding four-wheelers. This idyllic upbringing laid the foundation for her future pursuits in the performing arts.
As a child, Lisha began her journey in beauty pageants, which exposed her to a wide range of artistic outlets. She continued to nurture her creative side throughout her academic career, taking part in various extracurricular activities, including sports, school clubs, UIL competitions, and academic organizations.
Her impressive academic record, graduating in the top 5% of her high school class, paved the way for her enrollment at Baylor University. Initially, Lisha's passion for public speaking led her to consider a career in law, but her early childhood experiences working with Communities in Schools and her desire to serve as a voice for economically disadvantaged youth and adults with developmental disabilities ultimately shifted her focus towards a career in public service.
It was during her time at Baylor University, where she was studying Psychology and Criminal Justice, that Lisha discovered her true calling in acting. Her Theater, Greek Mythology, and Psychology of Acting classes sparked a newfound interest in the craft, leading her to reconsider her initial plans to attend law school.
After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree, Lisha decided to pursue a career in acting, marking a significant turning point in her life. Her early successes include winning the best actress award for her role as Ani in the short film Moment After That (2019) at the Rack Focus Film Festival. Furthermore, she made her feature film debut as Clarissa in the critically acclaimed film Miss Juneteenth (2020),alongside Nicole Beharie, solidifying her status as a talented and rising star in the entertainment industry.
