Lino DiSalvo is a seasoned director and producer with a rich background in the animation industry. For nearly two decades, he has been a driving force in the creation of beloved animated films and television specials.
DiSalvo is currently working on a feature-length film, JACK VS. THE APOCALYPSE, which he has spent the past two years developing under a Netflix Feature Animation development deal. This project marks a significant milestone in his career, as he continues to push the boundaries of storytelling and animation.
Prior to his work on JACK VS. THE APOCALYPSE, DiSalvo spent almost 17 years at Walt Disney Feature Animation, where he played a crucial role in the creation of several iconic films. Notably, he served as the Head of Animation on the Academy Award-winning film, FROZEN, and received a VFX Society award for his work. Additionally, he worked as a supervising animator on projects such as TANGLED and BOLT, and made significant contributions to films like MEET THE ROBINSONS, CHICKEN LITTLE, 102 DALMATIANS, and REIGN OF FIRE.
Following his time at Disney, DiSalvo went on to serve as the Creative Director for Paramount Animation and later as the Head of Creative at ON Animation Studios in Paris. His experience and expertise in the animation industry have been invaluable in shaping the creative direction of these studios.
Recently, DiSalvo directed and produced the Emmy-nominated Christmas special REINDEER IN HERE for CBS Studios and Paramount+. This project showcased his ability to craft engaging and heartwarming stories that appeal to audiences of all ages.
In addition to his work on JACK VS. THE APOCALYPSE, DiSalvo is currently drawing inspiration from his Italian cultural heritage and folklore as he develops BADALISC for Paris-based Mediawan Kids and Family. This project explores the magical realms of monsters, wizards, and spells, offering a unique and captivating world that is sure to delight audiences.
