Warren Lindle Wade, affectionately known as "Lindy" due to his middle name, was a close friend of Spanky and Alfalfa from the renowned Our Gang comedy series.
Wade's family, along with Alfalfa's, relocated from their Midwestern hometown to Hollywood, providing Lindy with an opportunity to begin his acting career by performing extra work on the Our Gang set.
However, due to growing concerns about World War II and the perceived threat of a West Coast invasion, Wade's parents made the difficult decision to remove their son from the Hollywood scene and return to their Midwestern roots.
Despite this setback, Wade went on to achieve remarkable success in various fields. He earned a PhD in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA),and played a pivotal role in establishing the first public broadcast station in San Jose, KTEH Channel 54.
Additionally, Wade had a distinguished 36-year career with the United States Navy Reserves, rising through the ranks to become a Captain.
In his personal life, Wade was blessed with a loving family. He had two children with his first wife, a boy and a girl, and two adopted sons from his second marriage. His family was further enriched by the arrival of a small but loving group of grandchildren.
