L.G. Bayão is a renowned and sought-after screenwriter, responsible for crafting many of Brazil's most successful films. With a versatility that allows him to excel in any genre, Bayão has written a wide range of projects, from character-driven dramas like "Ponte Aérea" (2015) to mind-bending thrillers such as "Motorrad" (2017),and even adrenaline-fueled action blockbusters like "O Doutrinador".
Throughout his illustrious career, Bayão has written over thirty feature films, many of which are currently in production, solidifying his position as one of the most prolific and in-demand writers in the industry.
Bayao's impressive resume includes his debut as a writer-director, the thriller "The Package", which was shot guerrilla-style in New York for under $10,000. He also wrote and directed his first animated short, "Russian Roulette", which won Best Animation at Animamundi 2002. Additionally, Bayao wrote and directed several short films before being hired as a script collaborator on his first feature, Jose Henrique Fonseca's "Heleno" (2011),which received seven wins and eleven nominations at various film festivals.
In his later works, Bayao has collaborated with esteemed film directors such as Maurício Eça, Tomás Portella, and Julia Rezende. Notably, "Motorrad", which Bayao wrote, was the only Brazilian film to represent Brazil at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
