Biography

Notwithstanding his significant contributions to the world of cinema, Lewis Collins, a British actor of notable distinction, often overlooked for his impressive body of work, primarily flourished during the 1970s and 1980s.

It was during this period that Collins made a lasting impression on audiences worldwide with his captivating portrayal of the rugged and charismatic William Bodie in the iconic 1970s action drama, The Professionals, first broadcast in 1977.

This pivotal role not only cemented Collins' status as a household name globally but also paved the way for him to star in his own film vehicle, The Final Option, released in 1982.

However, following the conclusion of The Professionals in 1983, Collins found himself miscast in a string of low-budget, straight-to-video foreign action films, which, unfortunately, did not fully capitalize on his earlier success.
