Levi Kreis, a renowned pianist, classical composer, and songwriter, was born and raised in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. From a young age, he demonstrated exceptional talent, touring regularly by the time he was just twelve years old. His remarkable abilities earned him a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University's pre-college program in classical piano during his sophomore year of high school.
After completing his education, Kreis transferred to Belmont University, where he aimed to pursue a career in gospel music. However, his plans were disrupted when he was outed, forcing him to reevaluate his aspirations.
Seeking a new path, Kreis relocated to Los Angeles, where he traded the religious closet for the entertainment closet. Despite opportunities with major record labels disappearing once his sexuality was revealed, he persevered and eventually attended an open call audition for Rent, landing the role of Roger in the Broadway national tour.
This experience sparked a passion for acting, and Kreis began studying with Warner Loughlin Studios. His subsequent auditions led to notable roles in the award-winning film Don't Let Go, alongside Katherine Ross and Scott Wilson, and the film Frailty, directed by Bill Paxton.
As his acting career flourished, Kreis won a Tony Award for his performance in Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet, originating the role of Jerry Lee Lewis. He has also appeared in the first national tour of Hadestown and the Tony-nominated revival of Violet.
In addition to his theatrical success, Kreis has released ten albums under his own record label, Vision 9 Records, achieving top ten positions on various charts, #1 music videos, and several national tours. His music has been featured in film and television, including The Vampire Diaries, Sons of Anarchy, and So You Think You Can Dance.
Kreis' most recent film work includes A Very Sordid Wedding (2017) and The Divide (2018),which received critical acclaim and appeared in numerous film festivals. Throughout his career, Kreis has demonstrated his versatility and talent, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
