Leslie Barbara Carter, born on June 6, 1986, in Tampa, Florida, was the third of five children born to Robert Gene Carter and his wife Jane Elizabeth Carter (née Spaulding). Her parents, who had been married for over 20 years, divorced in 2003. Leslie had an older brother, Nick Carter, born in 1980, an older sister, Bobbie Jean Carter, born in 1982, and twin younger siblings, Aaron Carter and Angel Carter, born in 1987.
Leslie and her siblings were featured on the family rally show House of Carters in 2006. She also had three half-siblings: Virginia Marie, born in 1972, from her father's first marriage, and Kaden, born in 2005, and Taelyn, from her father's third and current marriage to Ginger Carter.
In September 2008, Leslie married her longtime boyfriend, Mike Ashton. The couple had a daughter, Alyssa Jane Ashton, born in April 2011. Tragically, Leslie died at the age of 25 on January 31, 2012, from an accidental prescription drug overdose at her father's home in Westfield, New York. She was survived by her father, stepmother, seven siblings, her husband of almost four years, and their 10-month-old daughter, Alyssa.
