Biography

Leon John Head, a seasoned actor with over three decades of experience, is a proud member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Born on October 22, 1949, in Brighton, England, he has led a remarkable career spanning multiple continents.

After receiving a scholarship, Leon graduated with a Master's degree in Drama from Mountview Academy in 1979. He began his professional journey as a holiday rep at Butlin's and Pontin's, traveling across the UK and earning his Actors Equity Card. This experience laid the foundation for his future success.

Leon's early career in London's West End and Fringe theatre included starring roles in 'Night Must Fall' and 'Loot'. His breakout performance in the BBC series '84 Charing Cross Road' led him to emigrate to the United States, where he joined the American Actors Equity. He furthered his education by graduating with a diploma from New York's ESL Barruch College in 1982, specializing in teaching English through drama to kindergarten, high school, and university students.

Leon's extensive experience includes performances at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, where he played the role of Gary/Roger in 'Noises Off', and at the famous Cotton Club in New York. He gained international recognition by winning the role of Mario in the world's longest-running soap opera, 'Guiding Light'.

In the early 1990s, Leon moved to Los Angeles, where he starred in the cult classic 'Vampire Vixens from Venus' and became an entertainer on the Pacific Princess Cruise Ship. During his time in LA, he continued to direct Fringe theatre and write scripts, even directing his interpretation of Shakespeare for an American cable channel.

Leon's career took a significant turn when he moved to China, starring in several Jackie Chan films, including the 2005 blockbuster 'The Myth', where he played the role of Doctor Smith. He became fluent in Chinese, appearing in numerous Hong Kong hit movies and having a recurring role in the TV drama 'Romancing Hong Kong'.

Throughout his illustrious career, Leon has also starred in various commercials, including a memorable McDonald's advertisement where he spoke Cantonese. In his later years, he continued to write and remained passionate about acting, using his platform to help others.
