Leif's independent feature film "The 60 Yard Line" garnered significant recognition, winning Best Comedy at the prestigious Wisconsin Film Festival, Phoenix Comicon Film Festival, and IFS Film Festival, ultimately receiving a theatrical release on over 90 screens. As a writer and director, his short films "Passed the Brush" and "Heavy Stuff" received numerous accolades, including Best Short and Best Comedy/Horror awards at various film festivals. His short film "Birth is Beautiful" earned him the Best Editing award at the Reel Comedy Festival, while "Hyte" was nominated for Best Sci-Fi Short at Shockerfest.
As a production designer, Leif has achieved great success, winning two LA Weekly Awards and earning nominations for an NAACP Image Award and a Drama Critics Circle Award. In addition to his work behind the camera, Leif has also had a successful acting career, appearing in notable films such as "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2". He has also starred in several lead roles in features, including "Don't Blink", "AWOL-72", and "Lunatics, Lovers and Poets", which earned him a Best Lead Actor nomination at Method Fest Film Festival.
Leif has also made appearances on various television shows, including "Rebel", "NCIS", "S.W.A.T.", "The Crossing", "How to Get Away with Murder", "Chicago P.D.", and "Criminal Minds". As a playwright, his stage play "The Zombie Effect" has enjoyed three sold-out runs in Los Angeles, and his stage play "Mark on Society" was a contender for the Garland Awards.
In his limited spare time, Leif is an avid roller derby referee, skating under the name Wild Bill Hiccup for the L.A. Derby Dolls. His wife, DoomsDaisy, and daughter, Chewblocka, are also members of the team, and Leif has even refereed at the national championships, Battle on the Bank, where he won a referee MVP award.
