Lee Peterkin, a first-generation Palestinian-American filmmaker, has established himself as a talented and award-winning storyteller. Born and raised in New York, Lee's passion for storytelling was evident from an early age, as he showcased his creative skills through performances in theater and film production using family cameras.
Following the completion of his collegiate studies in film and theater, Lee sold his first screenplay, marking the beginning of his professional career as a writer, director, editor, and cinematographer. His diverse range of creative interests, including raw, absurd, drama, and tragic-comedy, are reflected across his extensive portfolio of music videos, short films, and commercials.
Throughout his career, Lee's dedication to his craft has earned him numerous awards and accolades. His anthology feature film, Prism, won an award at the prestigious Art Of Brooklyn Film Festival. Additionally, his short film, Ex Vivo, received awards at the Raw Science Film Festival and LA Live Score Film Festival, while his screenplay, Za'atar, was recognized with an award from Open Screenplay.
Lee's versatility as a filmmaker has also led to collaborations with other talented artists. As the cinematographer for the short film Barry, he contributed to the project's nomination for the Grand Jury Award at the SXSW festival. His latest work, the dance narrative Glance, has garnered awards at international film festivals, further solidifying his reputation as a talented and accomplished filmmaker.
