Biography

Lee Meriwether, a talented actress, is most notably recognized for her appearances in several science fiction and fantasy cult productions between 1966 and 1969.

Her iconic roles include playing both the villainous Catwoman and the not-so-evil Kitka in Batman: The Movie (1966),alongside Adam West as Bruce Wayne.

Meriwether's impressive acting career continued with her portrayal of Dr. Ann MacGregor in Irwin Allen's The Time Tunnel (1966) series, where she worked alongside Whit Bissell as General Kirk to help two time travelers lost in time.

In one notable episode, The Kidnappers (1967),Dr. MacGregor was transported to the distant future, allowing Meriwether to showcase her acting skills in a unique and challenging scenario.

However, Meriwether has shared that she often found herself acting to a blank screen in the Time Tunnel complex, as the screen meant to feature the two time travelers was actually empty, leaving her to react to nothing at times.

In 1969, Meriwether appeared in the Star Trek episode That Which Survives, playing the role of Losira, an alien being who stalked the Enterprise crew and attempted to kill them.

Additionally, Meriwether starred in the Land of the Giants episode Rescue (1969),where she portrayed a concerned "giant" mother whose children were trapped underground and needed to be rescued by the Earth "little people".

After her stint in the science fiction world, Meriwether went on to play the role of Betty Jones, daughter-in-law and secretary to Barnaby Jones, in the series Barnaby Jones from 1973 to 1980, appearing in a total of 178 episodes.

Throughout her illustrious career, Meriwether has continued to work in television, making her a beloved and enduring figure in the entertainment industry.
