Biography

Leah Lockhart, a native of Colorado, was born to a family of artists and musicians. Her parents, Mel Lockhart and Adrienne Clay, instilled in her a deep appreciation for the arts from a young age. Adrienne, in particular, played a significant role in Leah's early life, as she managed the box office for the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music, where Leah was frequently exposed to the world of theater.

Growing up, Leah had the opportunity to participate in numerous stage productions through Denver University's Ensemble Experience program, led by the esteemed Roberta Hamilton-Griggs. Some of her notable performances include "Oliver Twist," "Youngies Sing the Oldies," "The World According to Snoopy," and "Hello Dolly." This early exposure to the performing arts had a profound impact on Leah, fostering a lifelong passion for music, theater, and performance.

As a young girl, Leah worked closely with her father, who was a musician himself, and at the age of 11, she wrote her first song, "Where Heaven Meets the Stars." This song was later featured on an Alzheimer's benefit album titled "We Can Make a Difference." This experience not only honed her songwriting skills but also instilled in her a sense of social responsibility and the importance of using her talents to make a positive impact.

After completing high school, Leah transitioned into acting on film, appearing in several short films and receiving praise for her performance as the volatile and scorned Alice Fisher in the indie film "The Aviation Cocktail." This marked a significant turning point in her career, as it allowed her to explore her acting chops and gain valuable experience in the film industry.

In addition to her work in film, Leah has also had the opportunity to perform with several bands, including the Queen City Jazz Band, Your Father's Mustache Band, and the Colorado Reggae band Coral Thief. Her musical talents have allowed her to express herself in a variety of genres, from jazz to reggae, and has given her a platform to connect with audiences of all ages.

When she's not performing or acting, Leah can be found pursuing her love of adventure. She is an avid rock climber, white water kayaker, and mountaineer, and often finds herself scaling the peaks of the Colorado mountains. This sense of adventure and love for the outdoors has not only kept her physically fit but has also provided her with a sense of freedom and a deeper connection to nature.

Throughout her life, Leah has been driven by a passion for the arts, a desire to make a positive impact, and a love for adventure. Her unique blend of talents and interests has allowed her to lead a multifaceted life, filled with creativity, excitement, and personal growth.
