LaVar Veale is a multifaceted actor with over two decades of experience across various mediums, including independent feature films and shorts, television shows, commercials, and theatre. Born in Texas, he is the go-to Black actor for film and TV shoots in or near San Antonio, where he currently resides, and is also Covid-vaccinated and willing to travel to any set location.
LaVar has recently appeared in films such as Rainbow Door, Desolation Road, and Policing, and has also worked on short films like Glossolalia, Joan's Song, and The Quiet Shore. His recent television credits include co-starring roles in Murder Made Me Famous and TV commercials for Del Monte and VIA Metro Transit. Additionally, he has appeared in commercial modeling work for H-E-B and DirecTV.
Throughout his career, LaVar has had the opportunity to work alongside notable actors such as Danny Trejo, Sandra Echeverría, and Marycarmen Lopez. Despite a freak accident that required him to sit out a year of football, LaVar credits his downtime with introducing him to his true passion for acting.
LaVar's early love for football was derailed when he suffered an injury, but he eventually made his way back to the field and played football for the TCU Horned Frogs, while also starring in stage productions. He views every experience as an opportunity to learn and evolve.
As a social chameleon, LaVar has an easy ability to build rapport with anyone, which has served him well in his acting career. He is also a devoted father of three and husband of one, and is seeking darker roles that allow him to embody more troubled, complex characters.
LaVar has studied acting at TCU, where he earned a BFA in Theatre-TV, and has trained with multiple acting coaches. He is constantly learning and refining his craft by studying the work of great actors, including Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Guy Pearce, Johnny Depp, and Idris Elba.
