Laurette Spang, a talented individual, was born in the city of Buffalo, New York, but her formative years were spent in Ann Arbor, Michigan. As the middle child of a father who was a chemist and a mother who was a devoted housewife, she developed a strong sense of family values and a deep appreciation for the importance of education.

Growing up alongside her older brother, Richard, and younger sister, Marilyn, Laurette was encouraged to pursue her passions and interests from a young age. Her parents' influence and support played a significant role in shaping her aspirations and helping her develop a strong work ethic.
