Biography

Lauren Patrice Nadler, a rebellious spirit, was born in Queens, New York. Despite struggling with structure and formal education, her individuality and refusal to conform led to years of bullying during her childhood. However, this adversity fueled her determination to find her voice, which she discovered in the entertainment industry.

Lauren developed a passion for acting after high school, studying extensively under the guidance of Karen Ludwig, a protégé of Uta Hagen. She considers it an honor to be part of this lineage, never taking the craft for granted.

When circumstances forced Lauren to take a hiatus from acting, she remained in the entertainment industry, hosting and emceeing at several high-profile New York hotspots. She booked up-and-coming rock bands, choreographed fashion shows, and hosted VIP parties in the music world.

Lauren re-joined the acting world, taking classes at the renowned HB studios in NYC. She was once again swept away by her passion for acting, leading to performances in several off-Broadway shows and directing a few.

This led to collaborations with director Eric Bross, including casting Adrien Brody in his first lead role in the indie film "Ten Benny." She followed this with a second collaboration on "Restaurant," which showcased rising stars such as Simon Baker, Lauryn Hill, and Frank Vincent.

Lauren's work in New York led her to direct several films and plays, including "El Mariachi Negro," which was nominated for the Cultures Collide Film festival. She then directed "Deadgirl," which won Best Director and Best Short Film at the Filmjack Film Festival.

Lauren also directed several theater productions, including "The Dreamer Examines his Pillow," "Talk to Me Like the Rain," "Let Me Listen," and "Lobby Hero." She also directed an original one-woman show, "I'm Sorry," on the subject of animal rescue, which was featured in the Fringe Festival in 2011.

Most recently, Lauren directed two dramatic short films, "Being Brielle" and "One Last Shot," which served as a PSA for anti-bullying and teen suicide prevention. Both films traveled the festival circuit for a year.

Turning to humor, Lauren directed and produced a comic web-series, "It's You, Not Me," a fact-based series about online dating. This project was special to Lauren as it showcased a list of her master alumni students and rising stars, as well as the great comic Rick Shapiro.

As a result of her passion for teaching and coaching actors, Lauren has been instrumental in the rising careers of many newcomers, including Brit Morgan, Shay Mitchell, Jacob Artist, Parker Young, Tim Jo, Khylin Rhambo, Joseph Julian Soria, Jeremy Luke, Nicole Travolta, and many others.

Though directing and teaching take up much of her focus, Lauren remains passionate about acting and continues to practice what she preaches to her students. Most recently, she shared the stage with Danny Nucci in "Italian American Reconciliation."
