Lasse Spang Olsen is a multifaceted creative professional, boasting an impressive array of skills that span the realms of film direction, stunt coordination, television and podcast production, acting, and writing. Since 1983, he has been bringing his unique vision to life through a wide range of projects, characterized by his remarkable imagination, flair for explosive action sequences, and innovative use of stunts.
Born to a writer and illustrator father, Ib Spang Olsen, and an artist and painter mother, Nulle Ingeborg Øigaard, Lasse's creative inclinations were nurtured from an early age. At just 12 years old, he made his debut as a stuntman on the Danish children's show "Bamse og Kylling". Later, he pursued formal education as a cinematographer at Nordisk Film and Danmarks Radio, setting the stage for his illustrious career.
Throughout his career, Lasse has directed numerous Danish classics, including "In China They Eat Dogs" and "Old Men in New Cars", while also lending his expertise to over 500 films worldwide as a stuntman and special effects artist. His dedication to his craft has earned him widespread recognition, including the prestigious Robert Award for 'best short featurette' at the 9th Robert Awards in Denmark. This honor was bestowed upon him for his poignant film "Little Boy on Østerbro", which brought his father's legacy to life through a captivating blend of illustration and narrative.
